The present anti reservationists will get only 10% soon in IITs.

Gems from under a thatched roof
From Abhay Kumar DH News Service Patna:

This is one success story which could be an eye-opener for all those who have been creating a brouhaha for and against the reservation policy.

A brainchild of one of the brightest IPS officers of Bihar, Abhayanand, Additional Director General (ADG), the Super-30 came into existence four years ago.

Meet the members of Super-30. Most of them belong to the poorest strata of society. Yet, this was the moment they eagerly awaited. For, when the results of Joint Entrance Examination trickled in on Wednesday, 28 students out of 30 had cracked the IIT, thereby adding another feather to the faculty’s cap and bringing laurels to Bihar. One of them, Divyanshu Jha, ranked 10th and will be representing India in Physics Olympiad.

NOW SEE HOW THE TRUTH. THEIR SHOUTS ON MERIT IS ALL BOGUS. THEY SAID THAT MANY SC CANDIDATES IN IITS COULD NOT COMPLETE AND MANY SEATS WERE VACANT. YOU HAVE READ THE ABOVE STORY TOO NOW.

IT CLEARLY EXPOSES THAT THESE IIT PROFFESSORS WERE NOT TEACHING PROPERLY TO OUR DALIT STUDENTS AND THAT IS WHY THEY FAIL. SO PROVIDE 27% IN IIT TEACHING STAFF FIRST.

THESE FC AND BRAHMIN PROFFESSORS WILL DO ANYTHING ( TO PROVE THEIR POINT OF MERITS WILL SUFFER ,THAT IS NOT A CASE / TRUTH AS PER THE ABOVE ARTICLE). WE WILL EXPOSE THEM TILL THE NAKED TRUTH OF THESE ANTI RESERVATIONISTS COME OUT FULLY.

Chella, I solute you. My north indian brothers will be thankful to you a lot. how many blogs for them but one , this one, is the diamond. pebbles are always aplenty. keep it up and dont stop. we will intimate more and more datas to substanciate our TRUTHs and also to expose this REAL SELFISH people. This IIT prof arguement is fantastic and it should be the truth and an eyeopener for all of us.

Hi chella,
How can you say all of the students of the super 30 are from lower castes? (i cant find this detail anywhere form the article). Your argument saying the IIT professors dont teach dalit students is totaly ridiculous. Do you seriously think any professor will do that? I too support reservations, but i want it to be based on economical status and not a caste based one. Most of the SC/ST students who fail to complete their course are mostly rich guys, who got good oppurtunities during their school with all advanced coaching and inspite of that failed to score marks and used their quota(which is for their poor fellow castee people). This guys dont hav a intention to work hard and fail. But i'm sure if it goes to some poor rural SC/ST/OBC who is motivated but with lack of exposure(coz of which scores less than the rich guys of same caste), sure he would hav performed well. This is a fact, which i realised myself in my college. I had one such friend from rural area who scored less in school( due to lack of exposure and facilities) and got seat coz of quota. this guy use to ask me during our initial days of college that "is this a computer?" "what do you do with this?" etc. But later he went on to teach us data structures and other advanced programming concepts. So the quota system should be based on economical status. The rural quota in tamil nadu was good one to mention.Regarding your explanation on quota based on economy,

1.Its true we need a proper system to define the poverty line, and we need some strict governing to prevent fradulent usage of this quota.

2 but the cases you metioned are not worth
A).May be a farmer with big holdings may face big loss, but he his comparatively still richer than the small farmers. (And during any kind of calamity i have never seen any big farmer loosing much, they always do variety cultivation and have enough savings to live comfortably)

B).Do you think someone playing wiht stocks will ever go below poverty line?, whatever may be the market loss.

Also i accept that the current medico's agitation was with selfish motives, but still i dont understand need for reservation in PG courses, as all the students are given a level palying ground in their college.

i am proud of the fact that 28 of the 30 pupils have cleared JEE. Kudos to them .

On the other hand, you make baseless accusations on the IIT teaching faculty. What proof do you offer for these allegations ? While i am proud that these students have cleared JEE inspite of their life conditions, you are behaving like a racist.

Chella, with all due respect, i dont think you are worthy of commenting on an institute like the IIT, of which i am a part.
If you can find any students ( of ANY category !! ) who think that they have been discriminated against on the basis of their background ... bring them forward. Then you can talk. Otherwise i request you to keep your trap shut.

[just enabled comment moderation huh! dont dare people speaking logical stuff?]

NOW SEE HOW THE TRUTH. THEIR SHOUTS ON MERIT IS ALL BOGUS. THEY SAID THAT MANY SC CANDIDATES IN IITS COULD NOT COMPLETE AND MANY SEATS WERE VACANT.

What IIT Professors mean by "SC candidates" is SCs who make it through reservations. They are not talking about SCs who make it through open merit. They never ask the caste of a student when they teach.

Also, reserved category students do not have seperate classrooms. Do you understand now, dodo? :P

i havent seen a bigger duffer than you. Over and above that, you behave like a racist - dont you think you are insulting these superb professors who put so much to their jobs?

Now imagine what would happen if a dodo like you reaches IIT by reservation? wouldnt these guys - the splended guys you are talking about, and who made it by hard work - feel really, really bad?

Therefore, my dear dodo, irrespective of my caste or your caste, caste-based reservations should not be there - they would entertain dodos like you reach where you shouldnt. They would entertain dirt - precisely because they are not based on merit, they are based on reservation.

In the end, yes, dodos like you do "require" reservation. Its a different matter that you neither deserve it, nor you should be given the facility.

Next time, atleast be intelligible, non-racist, and less mud-flinging. Atleast show that you deserve some respect and honor.

This is IIT Chennai story

This year (2001), 537 students were selected to join B.Tech in IIT
Madras. Of these 503 students belong to the general category and only 34
students belong to the Dalit community. Instead of 22.5% reservation
eligible to Dalits only 6.3% is being filled up. If reservation is properly
implemented there should be 121 Dalit students in B.Tech course.

Only a handful of the Dalit students who clear the Joint Entrance Exam
are allowed to join the Institute and some of them are forced to take a
one year training called Preparatory Course and they are taught school
portions once more. The institute then conducts internal exams, and a
few of them are selected to join the institute & are made a year junior
to upper caste classmates Conducting of Preparatory Courses only to
Dalit students is violative of Right to Equality and is a highly
discriminatory practice.

Dalit students selected for the B.Tech are continuously harassed & they
are wantonly failed in courses by Brahmin faculty. This is facilitated
because student's caste is mentioned in the roll call given to Faculty
members. Very few Dalit students are allowed to complete their B.Tech
degree and many discontinue. Dalit students are entirely denied
admissions to other programs like M.Tech, M.S. & Ph.D.

In the Department of Mathematics, IIT Madras, till 1998 no Dalit
student had been selected for the Ph.D. program. Despite appearing twice for
interview a Dalit student Mr.S.R.Kannan was not selected. For selecting
him Dr. (Mrs.) Vasantha Kandasamy, an Associate Professor of the
Department had to appeal to various social justice forums to see that he was
selected. Till date he is yet to be allotted an office room in the
Mathematics Department.

Hi Chella,

First of all let me introduce myself. I am a student at IITB.
All that i want to say about your article is that your statement saying that the professors discriminate between the students based on their caste/category is baseless and void. Everyone is treated equally and the roll sheet DOES NOT mention whether a student is from the reserved section and DOES NOT mention his caste.
I'd like to hear from you about what more do you have to say on this topic.
Its two years since i have been studyign here and even between the students i have neven seen discrimination based on their caste.

First of all, your blog's really funny. Whether you meant it to be so not!

As you say, 6.3% of the reserved seats for Dalits are filled. Do you know why this is so? These students get admitted into IIT if they manage to score above a cutoff that's FAR lower than that for general category students. How can students who are unable to score even this much in the JEE be admitted into IIT?!!

To say that the concept of 'Preparatory Course' is against the right to equality is utter foolishness. Even after taking this, most of these students churn out pretty average scores, and yes, some of them fail and are kicked out of IIT... If they were made to join the B.Tech course directly, who knows how many would be kicked out!

I don't know where you got the info, but a student's caste is NOT mentioned in the roll call list! In the three years I have spent in IIT Bombay, I've never seen a 'Brahmin' professor fail an SC/ST student for non-academic reasons.

Your half-truths are worse than whole lies...

Hi Chella,
I am a student of IIT Bombay for the last two years. Let me tell you that there is absolutely NO discrimination between the open candidates and the reserved candidates. Please get this thought out of your mind. Infact please dont spread such wrong messages to the public. Its slanderous.

Also the preparatory course offered to the candidates is for helping them. its the equivalent of a tution. I dont see what is wrong if IIT offers a helping hand to get them upto the same educational level as others. My neighbour in the hostel has been through a preparatory course and he gives all the credit for his being in IIT to that course. (Recent interview in a newpaper. He isnt avaiable so I'll tell you the paper and date later.)

Thirdly, let me tell you, that I personally know Divyanshu Jha whom you have mentioned in the article. I have
evaluated his answersheets for Astronomy Olympiad. He would have cracked JEE in any case. There's no doubt about it. The point being made here is that not everyone is a Divyanshu Jha( in the "upper castes" as well as the "lower castes"). The whole point of the anti reservation rally is that those who get good marks should be taken in and those who cant should not.
To counteract the unfair advantages got by people who go to coaching classes, as compared to those who cant, you have reservations. But what about the rich "BC" students who have attended all possible classes, got the best tutions, why should they get reservations?

Think about this and then write blogs.
Dont use your words irresponsibly.

I do not understand whether Mr. Chella talks about Racial discrimination or Reservations. Entirely different topics. I believe we are trying to get a consensus on the subject as to whether we need "Reservations in India for the Upliftment of the so called socially and economically backward OBC's"

Mr.chella divyanshu jha is a brahmin , for your kind information . (ask anyone , jhas are brahmins) so dont get a high , dont worry , bhangi ,chamaars can never make it to olympiads.
why od u flee to abudhabi ?? why did u not serve your country , son of a bhangi??
i am an IITian and i would like to migrate to USA , UK , AUS, or anyother country including pakistan , but not serve this country , for i was always being discriminated for being an upper caste , i had to give JEE for three times whereas bhangis half my mrks were selected though they were very rich!!!
i would like to eradicate reservations one day chella durai.

continued from previous post----->
and Mr. chella ,after wasting 2 years and coming to IIT-bombay, i was filed with a feeling of revenge towards these politicians and bhangis and reservation supporters like u alike.
i wished to do my specialization in computersc/electrical and due to that i had to slog it out so hard. but these bhangis , with a fraction of my intelligence and half my knowledge got easily into electrical /computer sc. depts

do u want that hard working people like me should be reduced to 10 percent and bhangi-chamaars should go upto 90 percent --huh , ths reflects how ignoranat bhangis like u r.
i am like a jew in germany , i ll set up my own state and u hitlers will pay for reservations one day. one day all bhangis ll be thrown out of india , by forward castes

In reply to Brahmin

" so dont get a high , dont worry , bhangi ,chamaars can never make it to olympiads."

This is the mindset of typical Indian Brahmin. In a society like this were these nuts cannot treat SC/ST/OBCs with equality how can there be no reservation? This is the mindset that gives upper caste peple in Bihar courage to rape and kill so called lower caste people.

The brahmin asshole you first try to be a human being; then act like a brahmin. As long as mother fuckers like you are alive in India there will be reservation not based on economic stuff - whats the point in being rich where some of the ruling class consires you as seconed rate citizen? - ; And whatever agitation - as manageded by posh event managers - you stage you cannot do away with it because we are the majority here and its the justice.

Unless the mindset of upper castes change thee is no life for other Indians. Those who consider themselves superior to thers by birth is found only in Animal kindoms. Human civilisation cannot affort to such stupidity.

And you better go to US or other contries after ur studies. Else mindset like your will only be a dirty nuiscance to Indian Majority. By the way when you leave also remember that the education that you got and the rice/wheat that you have eaten till now is also from the money/blood of crores of poor chamaars in this country. Asshole, after eating their stool and keeping away them from education for centuries you dare to claim that they are inferior human beings?

You mother fucker, whats the guarantee that if your mother appears as a chamaar lady in front of you in your next birth - acccording to your own rebirth theory - you will not rape her with your perverted mindset?

Hello Chella, it is but obvious that God does not bless intelligence to people based on their caste be it brahmins like me or dalits like you.By the way, super 30 does not have all students from reserved category.I know Divyanshu Jha whom you have mentioned in your blog,he is my friend and is not of reserved category. So stop bragging about super 30.

Let me tell you the truth- SC/ST students who come to the IITs don't even get half the marks which we people score. They generally end up becoming under performers and a shame on the title" IITian". I do not mean to say that fools don't exist in high class people but they don't get admission in IITs and IIMs.Only guys with intellect do so, but in case of dalits that is not the case - both fools and intelligent flock together.
I can only pity your absurd notions.Your comment on IIT profs is the second most stupid thing I've ever heard..the first being the title of your blog.

chella ,

u are talking as if there are separate classes for the sc/st guys. it does not work that way. i am in iit and i know how things are. besides, there is no caste discrimination in iits a such. i have never seen anyone expressing their caste identity anywhere. get some first-hand info. visit any iit. get ur facts right.
ps: from where did u copy-pasted that "truth" stuff.

Ever heard about Anna University in Chennai, a premium institute in our state where no SC has to join preparatory courses? also read our SC cut off mark in medicine is 90% and not 50%. We need second generation reservation to set the record straight! Please read the post "Shocking (to whom ) info from Tamilnadu" from the archives!

It will never be possible to remove the mindset of Chellas...typical Tamil non brahmins. At home they copy brahminism to the last line. At the same time they feel pissed off with brahmins. Now these Chellas have to realize that if they are good they wont need reservation. Infact reservation serves the purpose of rich so called OBCs and SCs and STs. My servant maid's children will never get into IITs even if I pay them fees since there are these neo Brahmins like Chella who want reservation in the name of caste when they are sucking rich so that they can emulate brahmins and blame brahmins and get away with it.
By the way Chella, I know you would not have got into Guindy also, but let me make it. I had admission into IIT Madras and Guindy and was living in IIT Madras campus. I chose IIT Madras for the brand, but with a cross thread I always consider getting into Guindy tougher. If you have brains you can get into IIT, but even with brains or no brains, even with great marks one may not get into casteist TN college like Guindy.
Let me say in simple, in IIT Madras SC, STs are not discriminated, since the teacher teaches all students in the same class. Ofcourse if your head did not retain what was thought, you check out with your parents for producing such a head, dont blame it on the teachers. Gotcha?

Hi, guys from my experience during 3years stay at IIT kharagpur, I can say that no body discriminates on the basis on caste.so IIT system is fare.
But i am curious to know do IIT B.Tech degree mentions to which caste candidate belongs to? If yes then SC/ST guys will be discriminate outside IIT. If not then there is no discrimination.
Can anyone tell me that does IIT B.Tech degree mentions the caste or not?
